
Maria Bo Peronino (MA, BA, Cert) is a second generation Danish Canadian who is also of Italian (Venetian and Sardinian) ancestry and hails from the Salish Sea (Victoria, BC, the territories of the Xwsepsum, Lkwungen and Songhees people). Maria is a designer, crafter, image artist, content creator, reflexologist, naturalist and tarot card enthusiast. She has 20 years experience working in the digital technology field. Her work has been published in books, magazines, feature films, TV shows, museums and databases. She has volunteered with conscious-based projects involving human and non-human (whales) causes. She is also naturalist who finds digital device relief by forest bathing and making handmade crafts. Nature provides the antidote required to de-digitize and thus is the inspiration for The Careful Crafters.
Maria’s scholastic background consists of an MA in Communication and Technology from the University of Alberta and a BA in Image Arts from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University). She is certified in Online Learning Design and Delivery from Algonquin College and Digital Media from OCAD University. She is also a certified Marine Naturalist, has taken courses in Environmental and Occupational Health from the University of Victoria and completed an audit of the Indigenous Canada course through the University of Alberta via the Coursera platform.
